Tonight’s Murder Chose Me on Investigation Discovery follows former homicide detective Rod Demery as he probes the murder of a young woman.
But it also features a behind-the-scenes look into the production of the Investigation Discovery show, featuring interviews with the cast and crew.
Right at the center of that is Demery himself, with the show revolving around cases he had tracking criminals on the loose in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Demery has a personal interest in pursuing killers, following the murder of his own mother when he was just three years old.
Moreover, Demery’s brother was convicted in a separate murder case and received a sentence of life in prison.
With those incidents framing his life, Demery later decided to enter the police force.
He subsequently served for nearly 15 years as a homicide detective in Shreveport, considered to be one of the most dangerous cities in the U.S., and handled more than 250 cases.
Watch the Latest on our YouTube ChannelMurder Chose Me captures Demery revealing how the murder of his mother was ever-present in his mind as he solved each of the investigations for which he served as lead detective.
ID has called the show an “intimate first-person storytelling meets the gritty southern backdrop in Shreveport” in which each episode “brings viewers through a white-knuckle case”.
Murder Chose Me airs Wednesdays at 10/9c on Investigation Discovery.
