Crime Junkie is investigating the unsolved murder of Bryan “Nick” Moore, an antique dealer from Easley, South Carolina, who was shot dead and dumped by the side of the road in rural Anderson County.

Moore was last seen by friends on March 4, 2004, and was reported missing four days later when friends realized he had failed to contact his children.

The missing man was a highly successful antique dealer who excelled at finding bargain antique goods that he would then sell for a profit. His friends told the police that he always carried a large quantity of cash. There also appeared to be cash missing from his home.

On March 12, Moore’s remains were discovered next to some animal bones and close to an intersection in a secluded area. He had been shot twice, once in the chest and again in the face.

The killer had pulled up the victim’s shirt and positioned the body in a way that made investigators suspect they knew Moore. They described the murder as a scene of extreme anger and violence.

Sergeant Kendall Cash from the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office explained, “The way his body’s positioned in the violence of the act would indicate to us that more than likely whoever did this to Nick – whether it’s one person or multiple suspects – knew him, more than likely.”

However, on the 20th anniversary of the murder, Sergeant Cash claimed they were getting closer and had narrowed their list of suspects to two people. The sheriff’s office has not released the names of the two suspects.

Cash said they are putting their faith in new technology and are re-examining the shell casing found at the crime scene. The cops have also re-submitted DNA samples found on a cigarette butt and a beer can to the state crime laboratory.

The cops have interviewed 50 to 60 witnesses and believe that jealously over the success of Moore’s business was a likely motive.

Friends of Bryan ‘Nick’ Moore will not give up seeking justice

Moore’s best friend, Barry Crawford, has spoken passionately about his friend and said he will not give up seeking the justice Moore deserves.

In March 2024, Crawford publicly asked, “Who could take my friend on a deserted road, shoot him multiple times, leave him there, and drive away….who could do that?”

There is a reward of $12,500 for any information that leads to an arrest. Please contact the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office at 864-260-4435 or leave a tip at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
