Fatal Affairs is examining the murders of Stephen Delicino and Robert Haney, two handymen who were killed by pig farmer Susan Monica at her property near Wimer, Jackson County, Oregon.
Monica is thought to have killed 59-year-old Delicino sometime in 2012 and 56-year-old Haney in 2013. Both men had been reported missing, and the cops were only alerted to Monica after she was caught using Haney’s food stamps.
Monica was born male as Steven Buchanan, but she identified as a transgender woman.
The cops found the remains of both men on Monica’s pig farm. They had both been shot in the head, dismembered, and showed signs of being gnawed by the pigs.
Monica claimed she shot Delicino in self-defense and that the pigs ate him before she had a chance to bury him. However, on one occasion, she said he shot himself.
Her story about Haney is even more disturbing; she said he disappeared one day, and she found him a month later as he was being disemboweled by a pig. The twisted killer said she shot him to ease his suffering and that he may have been already dead. His remains were found parceled into plastic bags.
Susan Monica admitted to a cellmate that she was a murderer
A state forensic anthropologist, Veronica Vance, later told a court that Haney’s limbs had been chopped off with an ax, and his remains showed signs of being eaten by a pig.

Defense attorney Garren Pedemonte argued that there was no evidence his client was lying. A jury disagreed with his argument and found Monica guilty of two counts of murder and two counts of abuse of a corpse.
Before the sentence was delivered, Haney’s sister pleaded with the judge, “Please give my family justice. Don’t ever let her out, please.”
Susan Monica sentenced to life for killing Stephen Delicino and Robert Haney
Circuit Judge Tim Barnack sentenced Monica to life in prison; however, she will be eligible for parole after 50 years. She is currently incarcerated at the Coffee Creek Correctional Facility in Wilsonville, OR.
Judge Barnack told the killer, “You shot two people and fed them to your pigs. I don’t know how else I can put it. You valued pigs more than you value people. It may sound harsh, but you are a cold-blooded killer.”
