Oxygen is re-airing the Snapped investigation into the murders of Roger and Melissa Bluml, who were shot dead by Kisha Schaberg in front of their house in Valley Center, Kansas.
The Bluml couple had adopted Schaberg’s two biological sons, Anthony “Tony” and Christopher Bluml, and years later, Tony teamed up with his mother to help her kill Roger and Melissa.
As a teenager, Tony had become increasingly aggressive toward his adoptive parents, and he believed they favored his younger brother, Christopher. When Tony turned 18, he was kicked out of the house after a violent incident.
Tony made contact through social media with his biological mother, Schaberg. Schaberg then hoped to reunite the family by having Christoper come to live with her. However, the younger son said he wanted nothing to do with her, and she blamed the Blumls for this.
Schaberg and Tony recruited their friends Andrew Ellington and Braden Smith to help them rob and murder the couple.
Tony went out to dinner with his adoptive parents while Ellington and Schaberg broke into their home. They robbed the house, hoping the police would suspect the murders were the result of a random home invasion.
Kisha Schaberg pulled the trigger on Roger and Melissa Bluml
Tony contacted the Schaberg when Roger and Melissa left for home. When the couple arrived home, Schaberg rushed to their truck and pulled out a gun, which she pointed at Melissa’s head.

Christopher found his adoptive parents lying in their truck when he returned home later that evening. The couple were both still alive when the paramedics arrived, but Melissa died the following day, and Roger passed away five weeks later.
The police quickly zeroed in on the suspects. Ellington and Smith quickly confessed to their role in the murders and agreed to testify against Schaberg and Tony.
Kisha Schaberg and Tony Bluml sentenced to life for killing Roger and Melissa Bluml
Schaberg and Tony Bluml pleaded no contest to aggravated robbery and capital murder to avoid the death penalty. They were both sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
However, Schaberg claimed that she was innocent at the sentencing. She said, “First of all, I want to say that I’m truly sorry for everything that the Bluml family has gone through. I also want to say that I had nothing to do with this. I had no anger toward the Blumls and had the utmost respect for them. They gave Tony and Christopher a wonderful life, and I will always be grateful for that.”
Tony refused to speak at the sentencing.
Tony’s aunt, Christina Bluml, told him, “You chose to murder them. You chose your path. No one did that for you. Someday, you may come to understand your choices, or maybe you won’t ever know. It’s not for us to worry about; that’s a waste of our time, it’s a waste of everyone’s time.”
This episode of Snapped re-airs Friday at 6/5c on Oxygen.
