American Monster is examining the murder of Vincent Taylor by his wife, Tempest Cymone Daniel, following an argument at their home in Clayton County, Georgia.

On the morning of January 18, 2020, husband and wife Taylor and Daniel had a severe argument, leading Taylor to take their two young children and leave for his dad and grandmother’s home.

Taylor spent the day discussing with his father how he intended to end his relationship with Daniel. That evening, he took the two children back to their home in Rex, a southern suburb of Atlanta, GA.

Once again, the couple got embroiled in an argument, and at some point, Daniel stabbed her husband in the neck. Taylor had managed to press record on his phone, so the prosecution had a recording of the murder.

On the audio, Daniel could be heard threatening to kill her husband multiple times. At one point, Taylor is overheard screaming, “Stop, stop, stop.” The cops concluded that the killer stabbed Taylor in front of their two children.

Despite his injuries, Taylor left the house and was later found at a gas station in DeKalb County. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he sadly passed away a short time later.

At the sentencing, Daniel’s family begged the judge to spare her a lengthy sentence. Daniel’s mother, Kimberly Daniel, claimed her daughter was defending herself. She told the judge, “My daughter was a victim, and the only thing she was doing was defending herself.”

Kimberly Daniel added that her daughter loved her children and asked, “So I again beg you. Please don’t take her away from us.”

Tempest Daniel received life with parole for Vincent Taylor murder

The prosecution argued that there was no evidence Taylor had abused his wife and that she had manipulated her family into thinking he had.

Chief Judge Robert Mack accepted that it was a toxic relationship and decided he would give Daniel a chance at freedom. He sentenced her to life but with the possibility of parole. She will be eligible for parole in 30 years when she will be in her 60s. She is currently incarcerated at the Helms Facility in Atlanta, GA.

Taylor’s family had requested that the killer spend the rest of her life behind bars.

American Monster airs Sundays at 9/8c on Investigation Discovery.
