On The Case with Paula Zahn is examining the murder of Tiffany Jackson Pugh, who was gunned down by Adrian Harley as she slept in her home in the East Point neighborhood of Atlanta, Georgia.
Harley was the best friend of Tiffany’s husband, Andre Pugh, and was acting on his behalf.
Andre Pugh was a well-known DJ operating in the Atlanta area nightclubs. The DJ, known as DJ Awesome, was having marital difficulties and decided to have Tiffany murdered.
On November 23, 2014, Pugh telephoned the police at about 6 a.m., having just come home from work. He said there appeared to have been a break-in at his home, and he feared for the safety of his wife and their son.
The cops found 34-year-old Tiffany in the main bedroom with a single gunshot to the eye. Heartbreakingly, her two-year-old son was clinging to her lifeless body, begging her to wake up. There were two older children in the house sleeping in their rooms.
The police asked Pugh why he hadn’t gone into the house to check on Tiffany and the children. He claimed he had entered the house and spotted broken glass and his bleeding wife.
Pugh said he couldn’t find his son and became scared, so he left the house to wait for the police.

The investigators later discovered that Pugh used a secret cellphone to contact his friend Harley multiple times just before the murder. The cops also uncovered cellphone data that indicated both Pugh and Harley had been near the house at the time of the killing.
Neighbors later told the police they had seen a car that matched the description of Harley’s car.
In December 2014, the police arrested Pugh for arranging to have Harley kill Tiffany. Harley had been best man at Pugh and Tiffany’s wedding and had even been a pallbearer at her funeral.
