Mean Girl Murders is examining the brutal killing of Mary Ann Murphy, who was stabbed to death in her home by Rebecca Keller, who was aided in the murder by Mary Ann’s teenage daughter, Keri Murphy.
The 19-year-old Keller was having a sexual relationship with 16-year-old Keri, and Mary Ann strongly disapproved of their dating. This seems to be what led to her murder.
At about 1 a.m. on July 16, 2012, 48-year-old Mary Ann was sleeping peacefully when Keller straddled her on the bed and began stabbing her multiple times.
Keri ran to a neighbor’s house, claiming that someone had broken in and was hurting her mom. She dialed 911 from the neighbor’s house, but by the time the cops arrived, Mary Ann had passed away.
Her daughter told the police that two men had broken into her house. The investigation soon led to 21-year-old Zein Ahmed, a friend of Keri and Keller. The cops allegedly found the murder weapon at his home, and the case appeared solved after Ahmed admitted to being the murderer.
However, Ahmed claimed Keri had let him into the house and had helped organize the murder. This led to Keri’s arrest.

As the investigation proceeded, the cops learned of Keri and Keller’s illicit affair. They discovered Keri had a secret cellphone she used to communicate with Keller, and many of the messages were implicating Keller in the murder.
Watch the Latest on our YouTube ChannelIn a further twist, Ahmed was found to be innocent. He had been playing video games at home during the time of the killing, and a time stamp on his video game proved he wasn’t involved.
It’s still unclear why he confessed, but he claimed he was “scared and nervous.”
Eventually, the cops arrested Keller and charged her with felony murder and sexual assault of a child. Further examination of the messages and phone calls between Keller and Keri indicated that Keller had been the one to stab Mary Ann.

Keller and Keri had planned the murder for some time and had purposefully tried to place the blame on Ahmad.
Rebecca Keller finally pleaded guilty to murder and was sentenced to 60 years in prison. Due to the severity of the crime, Keri Murphy was treated as an adult and was sentenced to 30 years for her role in killing her mother.
