The murder of Judith Therianos by Timothy Frederick Johnson is detailed in the latest episode of The Murder Tapes on Investigation Discovery.

On April 7, 2016, a woman searching for cans in a field near 6633 U.S. 19 in New Port Richey, Florida, discovered the body of a woman and immediately alerted police.

Several days later, the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office identified the body as Judith Therianos, a 52-year-old mother of two from Alfred, Maine, who had been missing since March 14, 2016.

She was only identifiable through fingerprints as her body was badly decomposed.

According to an autopsy, Therianos’s cause of death was blunt force trauma.

Police learned through an investigation that Johnson, who was in the Pasco County Jail, confessed to other inmates that he killed Therianos.

The 25-year-old said they met each other at a store around 6 pm on March 13, 2016, and purchased alcohol, which was captured on a surveillance camera, before leaving to a wooded area where they had sex.

At some point during intercourse, Therianos wanted Johnson, who had been released from jail three weeks prior, to stop, but he refused and started choking her.

He choked her until she passed out. He then brutally struck her on the head and killed her.

Johnson had sex with her corpse for a while before stealing her debit credit. He went to a nearby Waffle House and bought something to eat before returning and having sex with her corpse again.

He left the area and returned with rubbing alcohol and poured it on Therianos’s body to get rid of the evidence.

Ten days later, Johnson was arrested on an unrelated charge. When police found out that he confessed to murdering Therianos, he was charged with first-degree murder.

Johnson was sentenced to life in prison and is currently serving his term at the Suwannee Correctional Institution in Florida.

The Murder Tapes, airs at 10/9c on Investigation Discovery.
