See No Evil is examining the murder of Jack Davis Jr., a bailiff and a former high school teacher who was beaten to death during a home invasion at his house in Kinston, North Carolina.

On July 19, 2015, a large gang of thugs decided to rob 71-year-old Davis. His girlfriend found him, still alive, lying in a pool of blood. A .22 rifle and a large flashlight were lying beside him.

Davis was transported to a nearby hospital and was then moved again to a more specialized hospital, but he sadly succumbed to his injuries a short time later.

The cause of death was registered as blunt force head trauma.

In less than a week, the Kinston police had arrested and charged Johnny Ray Sanders, 21, N’Finity Jones, 17, Jonathan Ordonez, 16, Adrian Torres Lopez, 19, Jaime Luis Torres, 20, and Phoenix Hannibal, 36.

The six were charged with a variety of crimes, including murder, burglary, armed robbery, larceny, and conspiracy.

Phoenix Hannibal played a crucial role in this case. She had thought about robbing Davis and suggested the idea to her co-conspirators.

Davis knew Hannibal, so she refused to partake in the actual home invasion in case he recognized her. But she did drive some of the accused to the scene. Some of the other attackers traveled in a different car.

Hannibal told the cops that one of the killers said the robbery would “be quick and easy; whatever happens, happens.”

Johnny Ray Sanders was the first to be sentenced after he was found guilty of first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and felony conspiracy. He received life.

Phoenix Hannibal pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and received between 12 and 16 years.

Jaime Luis Torres is also serving life, and the other guilty members all received jail time, receiving various convictions for their role in Davis’s murder.

Kinston NC police continued to arrest others for the killing of Jack Davos Jr

In December 2017, the Kinston cops also apprehended Erica Mona Jones, Frankiena McCotter, and Paris Gereaux Hannibal, who were all charged with felony conspiracy and felony accessory after the fact.

The Kinston police department allocated all available resources to solve this complex crime and bring everyone involved to justice.
