ID is re-airing the Mean Girl Murders investigation into the murder of Heidi Broussard by her so-called best friend Magen Fiermusca in Austin, Texas.

Broussard and Fiermusca had been good friends for years after they first met at church camp. In 2019, Broussard was expecting a baby girl, and Fiermusca regularly traveled from her Houston home to help her with prenatal classes.

However, all the time, Fiermusca was plotting to kill Broussard and steal her baby.

The twisted killer had spent months pretending to be pregnant and said her due date was around the same time as Broussards. It was part of her plan to pass baby Margo off as her own child.

On December 12, 2019, Broussard dropped her 6-year-old son off at school, and later, she and Margo vanished. Her partner and father to her children, Shane Carey, came home to find the 36-year-old and his newborn daughter missing.

Fiermusca initially fooled a lot of people with fake concern over her missing friend.

Broussard then drove the car with baby Margo and the body in the trunk back to her home in Houston. She presented Margo to her boyfriend, claiming she had just given birth and the baby was his daughter.

About a week after the murder, FBI agents followed Fiermusca’s boyfriend into a supermarket where he purchased baby clothes and formula. They showed him a picture of Margo, and he told them, “That’s the baby at my house.”

The police then found Broussard’s remains still in the trunk of Fiermusca’s car.

Magen Fieramusca convicted of killing Heidi Broussard

Fiermusca was promptly arrested and charged with capital murder and kidnapping. Faced with the possibility of life without parole, she eventually agreed to plead guilty to murder and was given a 55-year sentence. She will be eligible for parole after serving half her sentence.

At the sentencing, Broussard’s mother, Tammy Broussard, spoke about her daughter: “We miss her dearly. She’s forever strong in the midst of all the people. She was just so much fun and just so full of life, and now it’s been taken.”

The killer is currently incarcerated at the William P. Hobby Unit prison in Marlin, TX.

This episode of Mean Girl Murders re-airs Thursday at 10/9c on Investigation Discovery.
