Killer Relationship With Faith Jenkins is investigating the murder of former state trooper General “Jack” Rains, who was shot in the back of the head by Tina Williamson at his home in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
Rains was an 83-year-old retiree who had been a state trooper and the police chief of Woodbury. He lived alone, and his wife lived at a nearby care facility.
On September 1, 2007, Rains was found dead while sitting at his kitchen table in just his undergarments. He had been shot five times in the back of the head. The killer had shot him three times from a distance and twice at close range. He had been killed the previous afternoon.
Rains and Williamson initially met at a flea market and developed a close friendship over the following years. The pair began a small business buying and selling used cars.
They had a joint business account, which the bank required to always have a balance of over $10,000, and Rains was very diligent in maintaining it at that amount. However, on August 31, Williamson withdrew $1,500, which put the balance below £10,000.
The cops suspect Rains had been dead for about two hours.
The bank teller later said that Williamson was visibly shaking and told the staff member that Rains would not be there as expected the following day because he had a dentist’s appointment. The bank then tried and failed to contact Rains by telephone.

Evidence mounted up against Tina Williamson in Jack Rains murder case
Williamson was placed at the scene of the crime after several neighbors recalled seeing her in Rains’s driveway. Williamson also made two cellphone calls around the time of the murder that pinged to towers close to Rains’s home.
The police found Williamson’s DNA on Rains’s underwear, which led them to suspect that the pair were likely having an affair. Williamson, a married woman, vehemently denied a romantic relationship. Her husband and children stood by her throughout the trial process.
The investigators also searched Williamson’s home, where they found a number of firearms and ammunition. They came across a box of Federal brand ammunition labeled as containing 50 bullets, but only 45 were Federal bullets, and the rest had been topped up with five bullets from a different brand.
The five bullets recovered at the murder scene appeared to be of the Federal brand.
Tina Williamson convicted of killing Jack Rains
Williamson was eventually charged with robbery and murder.
She was found guilty by a jury of second-degree murder, felony murder, and aggravated robbery. She received a sentence of life plus 20 years.
Williamson continued to maintain her innocence and stayed emotionless when the judge passed the sentence. She mouthed I love you to her family as deputies led her away.
