Oxygen is re-airing the Snapped investigation into the murder of Craig Stelmasek, who was killed by Marzet Farris III at the behest of Craig’s wife, Laura Stelmasek, at the couple’s home in Prescott, Arizona.
In 2011, Laura and Craig had been married for 20 years and had a 16-year-old daughter together. However, their relationship was in serious trouble, and Laura had begun an affair with her former boyfriend, Farris.
Farris lived in Raleigh, North Carolina, but the pair were in constant communication as they discussed living together and killing Laura’s husband.
In late May 2011, Laura and her daughter drove to California to visit friends. On June 1, Laura returned to Arizona without her daughter and collected Farris from the airport. She told him where to find the weapons hidden in her home before leaving again for California.
Farris stabbed Craig multiple times and loaded him into the Stelmasek’s van. Farris then drove to Albuquerque, NM, where he left the van in an airport parking lot before flying back to North Carolina.
The killer had briefly stayed in a motel in Prescott, and after he checked out, cleaning staff found numerous bloody rags in his room.
