Snapped: Killer Couples is investigating the murder of Andre Dupuis, who was robbed and shot dead by Chandler Clark and Melanie Ray at the side of the road in West Nottingham Township, Pennsylvania.
In the summer of 2011, Ray and Clark faced parole violation hearings in their hometown of Titusville, near Erie in northwestern Pennslyvania. Clark was particularly concerned about being sent to prison, so the pair hatched a plan to flee to Arizona.
The couple concluded that they needed a vehicle that could not be traced to them to make their escape. Ray had been visiting a friend in the Lancaster and Chester Counties area in southeastern PA when she met Andre Dupuis.
The 32-year-old Dupuis was unmarried and had no children, so Ray and Clark concluded it would take longer for the police to realize he was missing if they killed him.
Dupuis also had West a 2006 GMC Sierra truck, which the killers decided to steal.
Ray asked Dupuis if he could drive her and her “cousin” Clark from Chester County to Lancaster County. As they drove through West Nottingham Township, Ray pretended to be car-sick and asked Dupuis to stop.

Outside the vehicle, Clark pointed a gun at Dupuis and told him, “It’s nothing personal. I just need your keys and your truck.” Dupuis ran to the cab of his truck, but Clark shot him twice in the back and the neck.
Watch the Latest on our YouTube ChannelClark then rolled Dupuis’s body down an embankment, and the couple fled the scene. They drove to Indianapolis, Indiana, where they planned to stay with a friend before continuing to Arizona.
In the meantime, a passing motorist spotted Dupuis’s remains and contacted the cops. The investigators quickly identified the victim because the killers had not taken his wallet.
The police tracked Clark and Ray to Indianapolis, and they were arrested a short time later. They both pleaded guilty to murder.
Melanie Ray and Chandler Clark are serving life for Andre Dupuis murder
Clark was convicted of first-degree murder and robbery of a motor vehicle and was sentenced to life in prison without parole plus 10-to-20 years. Ray was convicted of second-degree murder and also received a life sentence without parole.
At Ray’s sentencing, Dupuis’s mother, Joan Dupuis, slammed the killer’s lack of remorse. She said, “I’m numbed. It’s like a feeling of dread for some reason, and I don’t know why. But I don’t care about her. I have no feelings about her at all. Maybe ten years down the road, she will realize what she did. But now, I don’t know how she can sleep at night.”
