Did the Oklahoma court system fail Richard Glossip, a death row inmate who claims he is innocent of a murder-for-hire charge?
Why were key pieces of evidence that could back his claims of innocence destroyed?
Tonight’s two episodes of Killing Richard Glossip on Investigation Discovery seek to answer those questions and also revisit previous instances in which Oklahoma flubbed multiple executions.
The first two episodes of the miniseries aired last night. Episode 3 tonight is called The Machinery of Death and focuses on Glossip’s journey through the court system and his lawyers uncovering how it failed their client.
Also under the microscope is news of destroyed evidence that reveals how Glossip ended up on death row.
Episode 4, also airing tonight, is called Death Wish and traces Oklahoma’s history of botched executions.
The episode features footage of Glossip sharing his fear of facing the same ordeal as the inmates in those cases, and of forensic accountant Pam Kerr challenging the assertion that Glossip embezzled money.

Glossip was convicted on a charge of murder for hire following the brutal 1997 killing of Best Budget Inn motel owner Barry Van Treese. Glossip, who insists he is innocent, has faced execution three times, but each time the execution has been stayed.
Episodes 3 and 4 of Killing Richard Glossip air Monday at 9/8c and 10/9c, respectively, on Investigation Discovery.
