The Washington State Patrol and the West Richland Police Department have issued an Amber Alert as they continue the hunt for former police officer and suspected murderer Elias Huizar.
An Amber Alert was issued Monday night for Washington and Oregon when it emerged that 39-year-old Huizar is suspected of abducting 1-year-old Roman Huizar.
The police suspect baby Roman was abducted at about 5 p.m. yesterday in West Richland, and they believe Huizar may be heading for Mexico.
Huizar is also suspected of killing two women, his ex-wife and a girlfriend. The police have not yet identified the two women by name.
One of the women was shot dead at William Wiley Elementary School yesterday afternoon as the children were being released for the day.
The second victim was discovered yesterday evening at a residence in West Richland. The WRPD cops served a search warrant for the home, where they found a second woman had been murdered.
Huizar and baby Roman are thought to be driving toward Mexico in a 2009 Silver Toyota Corolla with Washington license plate CBZ4745.
