New Hampshire man Adam Montgomery has been found guilty by a jury of murdering his young daughter Harmony Montgomery in Manchester, NH.
The police believe 5-year-old Harmony was beaten to death by her father in December 2019; however, she was not reported missing until December 2021, and her remains have not been found.
Montgomery continues to claim he didn’t kill his daughter, but he has admitted to hiding her corpse and falsifying evidence.
Yesterday, a jury convicted him of second-degree murder; he was also convicted of witness tampering after he attempted to influence his estranged wife and Harmony’s stepmother, Kayla Montgomery.
Kayla Montogomery played a key role in the prosecution as she gave the gory details of what happened to Harmony. In December 2019, the Montgomery family were living out of their car and were spending most of their food money on drugs.
Kayla explained that Harmony was beaten to death after she had a bathroom accident in the car. She said they put Harmony under a blanket after the beating and didn’t realize she was dead for some time.

Harmony’s stepmother further testified that the body was hidden in the trunk of a car, a cooler, a ceiling vent, and a freezer before Adam Montgomery finally disposed of the remains in an unknown location.

Harmony’s biological mother, Crystal Sorey, last saw her daughter in April 2019. She reported Harmony as missing to the Manchester police in December 2021 after numerous attempts to speak to Montgomery about their child’s whereabouts.
Montgomery is already serving a 30-year sentence for a gun conviction. He will be sentenced for Harmony’s murder in the spring. The killer did not attend the court for the trial or sentencing.
Harmony Montgomery murder: Adam Montgomery described as a ‘coward’ and a ‘monster’
Sorey said of the killer, “He’s a coward; he’s always been a coward. That’s why he did what he did. He took her away from the people that loved her because he couldn’t hack that he didn’t have control. That’s all he cared about: control, everything in his life. She wasn’t anything to him.”
New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu referred to Montgomery as a “monster.”
The Manchester Police Department released a statement iterating the importance they placed on finding justice for Harmony. The statement read in part, “Getting justice for this little girl has been paramount to everyone at the Manchester Police Department and we are so grateful for this outcome.”
Unfortunately, the case isn’t over as long as Harmony’s remains are missing. Members of the public are asked to contact the Manchester PD at 603-932-8997 if they have any tips about what may have happened to her body.
