The authorities in Lowell, Massachusetts, have arrested Trevor Bady for the alleged murder of Aliana Dickey, a teenage girl who was gunned down last Friday.

Bady, a resident of Tewksbury, MA, was put into custody yesterday afternoon after cops found him at a house in Peabody, MA, about 30 miles east of where Dickey was killed.

Dickey’s family became concerned last Friday when the 15-year-old girl failed to turn up for her eighth-grade graduation. Their concerns grew as they were unable to locate her throughout the day.

The teenager was finally located by her grandmother at the girl’s home. She had suffered gunshot wounds, and there were shell casings at the crime scene.

Dickey was in a relationship with 21-year-old Bady, but she had recently accused him of abusing her.

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan said at a press conference yesterday, “It was learned that Ahliana had confided in a number of people that Mr. Bady had been abusing her and was threatening her as recently as the middle of last week.”

Reports of screaming followed by gunshots at the time of Aliana Dickey murder

The Lowell police said that at about midnight on Thursday night, Friday morning, a neighbor reported hearing a female screaming, “Get off me. Get away from me. I don’t want to be with you anymore,” followed by gunshots. At the time, the cops searched the area but found nothing.

Investigators recovered surveillance footage from the area, which allegedly showed Aliana and Bady on the street and seemingly showed the teenager in distress. Bady was allegedly seen leaving the area.

The cops also claim that Bady arrived at and left Aliana’s home using the same Uber driver. According to the police, the driver said Bady was acting suspiciously.

Grandmother Tracy Smith told reporters, “She’s my oldest granddaughter, and I don’t know how we’re going to go on without her. She was a child.” The teenager had only turned 15 in April.

Trevor Bady is facing a lengthy sentence if convicted of killing Aliana Dickey

Bady is looking at charges of murder, armed home invasion, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, use of a firearm to commit a felony, and discharge of a firearm within 500 feet of a building. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday morning.

Lowell Police Superintendent Greg Hudon said the shooting was an “isolated incident” and that there didn’t appear to be any further threat to the public.
