Deadly Influence: The Social Media Murders is investigating the murder of teenage mental health advocate and social media star Bianca Devins, who was slashed to death by Brandon Clark, who killed her during a jealous argument in Utica, New York.

The case was particularly notable because the killer posted images from the murder to multiple social media platforms. This later led to the enactment of Bianca’s Law, which requires large social media websites to properly identify and remove violent or graphic images.

Seventeen-year-old Bianca met Clark through Instagram a few months before he killed her. The nature of their relationship is unclear, but it appears that Devins saw him as a friend, but Clark had hoped for a romantic relationship.

The murder occurred on July 13, 2019, when Clark drove Bianca to a Nicole Dollanganger concert in New York, and she allegedly kissed another individual. This caused a jealous rage in Clark, which turned into an argument and ended when the twisted killer slashed Bianca’s throat.

Clark posted images of Bianca’s corpse online with the words, “Here comes Hell. It’s redemption, right? and “I’m sorry Bianca.”

The cops began receiving calls from Bianca’s concerned friends and family, who had witnessed the shocking images online.

The killer then telephoned the police himself, telling the operator, “My name is Brandon. The victim is Bianca Michelle Devins. I’m not going to stay on the phone for long because I still need to do the suicide part of the murder-suicide.”

As the cops closed in on Clark, he lay on a tarpaulin beside Bianca’s remains and took a few selfies of them both, posting the pics online. He then stabbed himself in the neck.

The police sent Clark for emergency surgery and charged him with murder the following day.

Brandon Clark confessed to Bianca Devins murder

Two years later, Clark pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 25 years behind bars.

At his sentencing, Clark asked the court, “How do you meaningfully apologize for doing something so horrible, so irreversible?” He added, “That’s the worst part; I can’t take it back.”

Bianca’s grandfather, Frank Williams, told the killer, “You, Brandon, deserve to spend the rest of your life in prison without Freedom. Deprived of the rights you took from Bianca.”
